Matthew has represented clients before Alberta's Provincial Court and Kings Bench, the Canadian and Alberta Human Rights Commissions, the Occupational Health and Safety Tribunal Canada, and the Canadian Labour Board. He has also been involved in legal cases in Ontario and represented clients in various other administrative tribunals such as public inquiries, investigations, and hearings involving professional conduct, professional negligence, ethics, etc.
Matthew has litigated numerous professional negligence cases on behalf of various types of regulated professionals and their insurance providers. He has litigated both employer and employee side employment and labour law generally and for federally regulated industries.
Matthew is a published author. Other lawyers rely on Matthew's advice and reference material he has authored or co-authored, including professional development courses, books and legal journals.

Matthew practices commercial litigation in a variety of areas with a specialty in employment and labour, contractual dispute, confidential information, professional body regulatory work, administrative law, and reputational risk litigation.
Matthew has significant experience with both federally and provincially regulated workers in unionized and non-unionized environments.
Matthew draws on a breadth of experience to help his clients solve their disputes in an efficient and pragmatic manner that works for their business and/or their personal lives.
Upon graduation from law school, Matthew completed a Judicial Clerkship for the Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Ontario, and then joined Bennett Jones as an Associate.
Matthew also worked as a Senior Advisor to Cabinet Ministers in both the federal and provincial governments. From 2012 – 2014 Matthew served as a Senior Advisor to the Premier of Alberta and was responsible for directing the government's agenda and priorities.
